Minister Clement (C.J.) James, Jr., is the Senior Advisor to U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, dedicated to bridging the gap between government and faith-based and African-American communities

With nearly two decades of government experience, he has held key roles, including Assistant Director of Community Affairs for the NYC Fire Department, Field Organizer for President Obama’s campaign, Director of Faith-Based Outreach, and the Director of African American Affairs in the Governor’s Office.Minister James is a staunch advocate for underserved communities, collaborating with clergy and civil rights leaders across New York. He holds a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and a Master’s in Public Administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice; he’s pursuing a Master’s in Divinity at Virginia Union University and is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
