He has lead and facilitated numerous efforts to create peace in New York City including supporting one of the longest standing gang truces on Rikers Island. He has leveraged his lived experience of being system-involved from a young age to create better opportunity for young people, and reduce mass incarceration. Steve works as a consultant, to a variety of national organizations, on how to effectively engage communities and credible messengers in gun violence prevention work.
